Helping Kalikhasan Grow Online
Kalikhasan, derived from ‘kalikasan’ (nature) and ‘likha’ (to create), is one of the pioneer eco-friendly brands in the Philippines. Their mission is to provide Filipinos more sustainable options for skincare, home care, kitchenware, and lifestyle products.

Vision
At the height of the pandemic, Kalikhasan needed to pivot from doing regular pop-ups and eco fairs to having a stronger online presence.
Small businesses usually have a combination of personal and brand posts, and Kalikhasan was no exception. They had also outgrown their previous branding, which was not aligned anymore with their brand values and the audience they wanted to reach. The need to refresh was to help them create more meaningful connections with old and new customers and patrons, at the same time modernizing and standing out in the growing market.
Our challenge was to reflect their growth on their online platforms, including setting up new pages and a bigger community, while still being recognizable to their loyal customers.

Solution
In line with the brand refresh, we had to reintroduce Kalikhasan. Presenting an eco-friendly product line in the online world had a very different approach than in-person events, so we had to recalibrate quickly.
For example, at in-person pop-ups, people usually passed by and saw the products on the shelves and could easily test them out. We had to translate that to the digital world through design and branding, making the new brand more than inviting enough so that people would want to get to know Kalikhasan products better.
We then started by updating the Kalikhasan leaf, and then proceeded to use more modern typography (san serifs), adding playful organic graphics to digital collaterals, and cleaning up the packaging design. We successfully reintroduced the brand by setting up a new Instagram page and strategizing content to organically grow its following with valuable and engaging graphics.
The brand refresh was well-received by both the owner and their audience, and Kalikhasan had since extended this updated branding onto new earth-friendly products.
