The Light Years: 100 Days of Everything

In this book, author and teacher Isa Garcia wrote about the tenderness and small moments of life and friendship the year before the pandemic, and everything else, happened. Along with artist Maggie Yoingco's beautiful illustrations, it's truly an homage to the Before times and I’m very honored to be part of something made with so much love.

Vision
Isa had the words, Maggie the artwork. But they needed someone to put them together. Producing, launching, and marketing a book was a big project for independent creators like us, so when Isa tapped me for this project, it was an immediate yes.

Solution
Although it seemed daunting, this project flowed amongst the three of us. It helped that we were already friends beforehand, but that we were open collaborators made us nail it.
The material influenced the creative direction for this book, and all I had to do was make it shine: Simple layout. Classic typography. Paper you can feel. A whole lot of heart.
